Scale Biosciences, Inc. (“ScaleBio”) is an early-stage life sciences technology and tools company developing advanced single-cell analysis solutions based upon the Company's patented split-pool barcoding and combinatorial indexing technology, to enable scalable, easy-to-adopt, extensible, cost-effective single-cell experiments so make single-cell sequencing across a broad range of systems, sample types and applications accessible to the larger research community.
Our founding team are the key inventors of split-pool barcoding and combinatorial indexing methods and share a common mission develop, democratize and make accessible this important technology for the broader research community to support broad range of applications including Epigenomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, and Multi-omics. We have a strong Board, Advisors, and Management Team with a collective proven track record in building successful life sciences tools companies and a growing passionate, multi-disciplinary, diverse team of scientists, engineers, bioinformaticians and software developers.

We are seeking people that have a passion for developing technologies and tools that benefit the broader researcher community in the discovery of human biology, have a strong interest in single-cell sequencing as a disruptive and enabling technology and see the potential for our patented split-pool barcoding and combinatorial indexing methods.
Reporting directly to the Global VP of Sales and Support, this Director level role will lead and grow a team of account managers focused on direct field sales and field application scientists focused on customer success in the direct regions. You will be responsible for all aspects of sales and support in the direct regions of UK, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria to drive success of the ScaleBio portfolio by exceeding sales goals and ensuring customers are supported to the utmost ability to ensure their success.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute sales and support strategies and tactics across EMEA aligned with the company’s key objectives alongside the distribution territory key objectives.
- Exceed revenue goals and assist in setting ambitious but achievable quotas for the team.
- Determine smart, conservative headcount plans then hire the best to execute to the goals.
- Ensure a strong balance of pre- and post-sales support of the field application team to maximize customer success and drive the business.
- Manage the team through key objectives and sales/support metrics to ensure accountability and development.
- Partner across the company to bring in voice of customer to product management, bring in opportunistic collaborations to market development, and bring in landscape intel and market trends.
- Frequent reporting of the state of the direct EMEA business through detailed metrics and interpretations of those metrics with predicable projections of revenues each quarter, including in-person (CA) at quarterly QBRs.
- Provide accurate and reliable yearly and quarterly bottoms up forecasting.
- Actively participate in developing the commercial operation needs and tech stack to ensure proper tracking, reporting, and efficiencies.
- Ensure proper tracking of FAS process around cases and CRM compliance, proactively improve and implement new processes as needed.
About You:
- Proven commercial leadership experience with a problem-solving attitude and quick, excellent decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and excite a team through your strategy, company vision, and personal dedication.
- Ability to lead teams in various time zones through multiple priorities.
- A large network and strong relationships with potential customers across EMEA in academia, biotech, and pharma.
- Very strong analytical and interpretation skills to aid in reporting the business, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Understanding of sales methodologies with the ability to coach the direct sales team on them.
- Capability to have a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the ScaleBio technology and the research areas that they are used in.
- Strong verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Domestic and international travel with a minimum of 50% to be face to face with your team, customers, and prospects plus strategic company meetings.
Required Experience:
- An advanced degree in sciences or equivalent.
- Experience in Genomics, and/or Single Cell omics.
- Experience or familiarity with genomic assays and kit-based protocols.
- Field Sales and/or Technical Service and Support Experience.
- 5+ years in sales management and/or support management.
- Deep knowledge and successful usage of CRMs.
- Additional European language skills preferable.
Below is the salary range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, commission, and experience.
Base Salary Range - $120,000 - $150,000 USD
