Invesco Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is evolving its capabilities and is looking for new Team members. Enterprise Risk is a global Second Line of Defense function that engages with Invesco Business teams to facilitate delivery and oversight of the risk management framework and provide a consistent, aligned approach to risk management across the firm.
The Enterprise Risk Management team, comprised of dynamic, diverse, and highly collaborative members, drives value to Invesco through delivery of a comprehensive and standardized view of risk, integrated and underpinned by data and metrics. At the heart of the Invesco Enterprise Risk framework is the foundation for strong analytics, capable of responding to emerging threats and opportunities and adapting to evolving market trends and conditions.
Your Role
Own and drive risk advisory services to the business in the Americas region. Partner with business areas to support strong first-line risk management activities, programs and controls across the firm while meeting regulatory requirements and providing timely and robust second-line review and challenge.
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Managing second line Operational Risk management activities in the Americas business and global Strategic Risk and Financial Risk management activities across Invesco.
- Partnering with the Global Head of Investment Risk on the outcomes from portfolio management / investment risk reviews that intersect with Enterprise Risk management.
- Supporting the Chief Risk & Audit Officer in coordination of the ERM framework across all regions to deliver consistency in approach, delivery and output while also simplifying and streamlining processes.
- Developing detailed understanding of business strategy, clients, products, and services to best engage with the business areas to improve first-line controls, incident prevention, and risk management activities, including review and challenge of new / modified products, services, and systems.
- Bringing consistency and alignment of Americas activities and standards with Invesco's global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, policies, and procedures.
- Reviewing and challenging risk appetite statements and supporting key risk indicator monitoring and reporting. Ensuring risk management keeps pace with industry and business change.
- Managing and leading team of risk professionals to engage in day-to-day activities with business areas in support of the enterprise risk management framework, including but not limited to: Risk Appetite, Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), incident management and committee / board risk reporting.
- Demonstrating and sponsoring appropriate risk management and leadership behaviors in support of doing what is right for clients and the business as a competitive advantage. Champion a culture of continuous learning and development as well as continuous improvement.
- Ensuring team interaction and support models promote a high-performing global enterprise risk organization.
The Experience You Bring:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Master's or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in enterprise / operational risk management in financial services, preferably asset management.
- Significant experience in the Asset Management industry, to include deep knowledge of investment products and strategies, including equities, fixed income, ETFs, commercial real estate, private credit, and wealth management.
- An extensive knowledge of risk management frameworks and standards (industry and regulatory).
- Ability to think strategically, tackle sophisticated problems and formulate solutions by using appropriate data / analysis, sound judgement and working towards a great outcome for everyone.
- Forward-looking, flexible, and adaptive with an ability to navigate change in a highly matrixed, global organization.
- Ability to lead through influence, partnerships and building trusted relationships.
- Ability to think strategically, tackle sophisticated problems and formulate solutions by using appropriate data / analysis and sound judgment.
