We are seeking a passionate and experienced UX & Design Expert to join the Bullish Product Management team.

As the Head of UX & Design, you will lead the end-to-end user experience across web and mobile platforms for Bullish and CoinDesk. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping our digital product design strategy, building a cohesive and scalable design system, and delivering best-in-class user experiences tailored to the needs of diverse audiences, from individual traders to institutional clients, and from casual readers to in-depth industry analysts.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a unified UX & design strategy for Bullish and CoinDesk digital products that align with business objectives and brand experience. Advocate for user-centered design principles and methodologies across the organization.

• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and grow a talented team of designers, UX researchers, and design system architects. Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the design team and across Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams.

• User Research & Insights: Drive user research initiatives to understand diverse customer segments, uncover pain points, and identify opportunities for innovation. Translate research insights into actionable design solutions.

• Design Execution: Oversee the design of intuitive and engaging user interfaces for web and mobile platforms, balancing aesthetics with functionality. Ensure all design outputs meet the highest standards of usability, accessibility, and performance.

• Design-to-developer handoff: Own and continuously improve upon the design-to-developer handoff process to best enable Engineering and the overall SDLC process.

• Design System Development: Build and maintain a robust, scalable, cohesive design system to support both web and mobile platforms. Ensure consistency and efficiency across all user interfaces, components, and digital brand touchpoints.

• Measurement & Optimization: Establish KPIs to measure the impact of design initiatives on user satisfaction, engagement, and business outcomes. Continuously iterate and improve designs based on user feedback and performance data.

• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of the latest developments in the UX, UI and Design space, regularly proposing innovations to improve both Bullish and CoinDesk capabilities.

• Work closely with the Brand & Creative team for design alignment across product, brand, visual UI, and user-journeys that cross into marketing.

• Provide UX/UI and Design mentorship for other Product Management team members.

• Some domestic & international travel is required.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in UX/UI design, including execution and delivery focussed leadership roles in a digital-first organization. You will have in-depth experience leading UX/UI design functions through multiple business cycles and product evolutions. 

• Demonstrated expertise in designing for both web and mobile platforms, ideally in complex, data-rich environments.

• Strong track record of building and scaling design systems.

• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including Product Managers, Engineers, and Marketers.

• Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Webflow, Lottie) and prototyping tools.

• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and design best practices.

• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Strong project management skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.

• Experience working in agile and iterative product development environments.

• Data-driven mindset with the ability to leverage insights for product decisions.

• Comfortable being the “face of a product”.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic organization where priorities can change frequently.

• Experience working in a distributed organization.

• Industry Knowledge: Experience in the financial services, media, or technology industries, particularly with digital asset exchanges or media platforms.

• Built a UX/UI & Design team at a prior organization.

• Rolled out a multi-brand (or product) design system at a prior organization.

• You bring a problem solving mindset to the table at all times! No problem is too big.

• Ability to experiment/play in front-end code such as HTML/CSS

• Experience incorporating automation or AI into workflow for efficiency upgrades

Annual Base Salary

US$150,000 to US$190,000
