Heat Treatment Operator

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and you must be a US person. ITAR defines US person as an US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (ex."Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Flexible work schedule: Day shift, Evening shift, Weekends as needed. (Schedule weekly ). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • The individual must Operate and monitor vacuum, atmosphere and nitriding furnaces. • Proper use of other production equipment in a safe and correct way • Prepare loads for heat treatment furnaces, racking and unracking. • Perform minor furnace or equipment maintenance and cleaning. • Strap parts and load/unload trucks • Replacing gases for nitriding and vacuum temper furnaces when needed • Maximize utilization of the furnaces to minimize furnace idle time. • Follow instructions and guidelines carefully and precisely. • Report potential risks or issues and follow provided instructions and/or corrective actions. • Do regular housekeeping of the shop floor, keeping the shop clean, organized and tidy. • Be familiar with working in a quality system. • Manage furnace logs, thermocouple logs, picture files, and all other records and documents as part of our quality system; individual must be good at maintaining process records as part of our quality system. • The individual must follow instructions and must have strong communication skills to ensure smooth process flow and proper equipment utilization and to maintain a safe and productive working environment. • Be proactive with a strong interpersonal skill. • Strong attention to details • Be punctual. • Be prepared to do any other assignment if requested by Supervisor or Operations Manager. • Day-to-day AM and post processing equipment operation and maintenance. • Continuous process improvement for efficient and repeatable part production, working to develop process in the direction of serial production and commercialization. • Maintain and promote a positive and safe work environment. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: • Academic/Technical - certificate in heat treatment, minimum High School. • Long-term experience in related job. • Good communication skills. • Knowledge of furnace operation and inspection. • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment. JOB DIFFICULTY: The incumbent is responsible for daily prioritization of tasks under minimum supervision. General instructions are provided by the Operations Manager. • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform required job functions. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, and other industrial environments., ACCOUNTABILITY: The incumbent is responsible for supporting all Company objectives and for continuous reduction of all relevant inefficiencies.
