ABOUT THE ROLE

The Help Desk Specialist provides desktop support and troubleshooting to employees, as well as assists in maintaining computer systems and networks. You will be responsible for setting up our new employees with their IT assets, as well as auditing pieces of IT throughout the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Set up and maintain computers, associated hardware, and necessary peripheral devices.
  • Install and configure appropriate software and applications according to specifications.
  • Provide desktop support and guidance to users on how to operate new software/computer equipment (both Mac and Windows).
  • Respond to user help tickets and perform troubleshooting to diagnose/resolve problems.
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without interrupting daily office work.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs, fixes, and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate degree or pursuing a degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in customer service or IT support preferred.
  • Technology: High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Ability to independently problem solve.
    • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Aptitude to learn a variety of technologies to support the business.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
