Job Description:
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the People team and play a pivotal role in the forward direction of our organisations approach to our people. The role is responsible for leading and pro-actively running the business requirements around all aspects of HR compliance, governance, equality and diversity to ensure policies, controls and associated safeguarding are protecting the company.
Your role will involve translating legal and regulatory obligations into easy to understand procedures, ensuring that policies are clear to understand and accessible at all levels. You will set up a way to supervise ongoing changes and develop plans to help mitigate risk for the company.
Your responsibilities may be driven by new legal and regulatory requirements, employee behaviour, solution implementations, or emerging trends. You will also work on additional projects that help to drive brand standards and support a safe, respectful and inclusive work environment.
What will my accountabilities be?

  • Maintaining, evolving and improving the Crew/salaried handbooks for both UK and ROI
  • Review and maintaining of policy approaches to support the culture of our business
  • Lead and define changes for the business in line with current and future legislation to maintain compliance within UK & ROI employment regulations, as well as providing adequate communication to franchisees, managers and employees about such laws.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, conduct research and partner closely with internal and external legal advisors or HR Business Partners to proactively supervise and update relevant statutory, regulatory and contractual changes
  • Lead the provision of accurate, professional correspondence
  • Provide clear and regular communication with HR Business Partners and other parts of the People team on new employment laws, regulations, and guidelines. Supervising key Human Resource and employment related risk
  • Provide specialist advice, support and mentorship to HRBPs on policy related employment issues
  • Work alongside People Insights to proactively identify employee relations trends, and build and implement proposed solutions, in partnership with key partners
  • Support the Legal team to monitor company annual mandatory compliance training completion
  • Following disciplinary investigations, provide recommendations on corrective policy and actions, as well as procedural changes that will prevent any reoccurrence.
  • Over time, you may also creatively own the evolution of People Strategy and People Brand Standards


What Team will I be a part?
You will work within the People Relations & Insights Team, which sits within the broader People Team

You will primarily support the People Team and wider business across all functions
Qualifications:
What background do I need to have?

  • Previous experience in HR with proven track record in designing processes and programs that align with the operations of the business
  • Good knowledge of UK and ROI employment legislation
  • Strong ability to analyse, interpret and explain UK and ROI employment law
  • Experience advising on employee relation issues
  • Integrity and professional ethics
  • Strong creative writing skills, eloquent and proficient in policy creation
  • Curiosity and a willingness to challenge organisational culture where necessary
  • Good understanding of digital technology and Microsoft based programmes
  • Good communications skills to be able to optimally connect with all partners
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with ability to plan and prioritise workload
  • An adaptable team player, strong ability to be self-directed in planning own work with experience of working collaboratively and confidently with others yet is comfortable using initiative when working alone
  • Excellent ability to influence others and diplomacy in dealing with people
