HR Generalist

A day in the life of the HR Generalist:
- Embrace teamwork; share ideas and assist with various projects and tasks throughout the year as assigned or as the situation dictates.
- Provide a high level of customer service in all interactions with employees, peers, and management. Address employee relation concerns while partnering with management.
- Build effective business partnerships with management by developing a solid understanding of the business, and by seeking to develop and/or recommend Human Resources solutions that balance employee needs with departmental goals.
- Help with the development and roll out of programs and initiatives that make Boingo a “Best Places to Work” company.
- Support the benefits administration process for new and existing employees from initial enrollment through termination. Answer employee inquiries regarding benefits.
- Provide support for HR functions such as conducting exit interviews, submitting payroll (as a back-up), and facilitating leaves of absences.
- Use BambooHR (Boingo’s HRIS system) for new hire information, onboarding, and off boarding activities, running reports such as the EEO1, etc.
- Help with the annual performance review process. Guide managers and employees through the process and follow through with managers to ensure completion.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
What you need to bring to the table:
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience required
- Experience with the steps to follow and conduct an internal investigation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Compliance with state and federal regulations, including California regulations.
- Exposure to Performance Management, including the performance review cycle and performance improvement plans.
- Experience with benefits and 401(k) enrollments, and employee questions.
- Experience managing FMLA, and other leaves of absence.
- Thorough knowledge of and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, & Excel (especially VLOOKUP’s)
Nice to have:
- Knowledgeable of ADP Workforce Now preferred
- Experience with Covid-19 regulations, compliance - federal, state, and OFCCP-related.
- Bachelor’s degree
