Integrations Architect Job Description

The newly added role of Integrations Architect is a critical member of the Integrations and Engineering Systems team.

This role will be responsible for providing guidance and promoting best practices around integrations to/from multiple applications. Also, the role will work closely with other IT teams and business users to develop and establish an API governance process to enable different and effective ways to integrate our business applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Articulate the case for change
• Conduct architecture, roadmap, and planning workshops

• Provide current state architecture and recommend future state architecture
• Periodically provide updates about integrations architecture to leadership
• Responsible for the enterprise application integration (EAI) strategy and platform (SOA, EDI, ETL, Data Virtualization) platform
• Exposure to SOA governance tools
• Establish platform governance with policies for using webMethods & Azure Integration Services, articulation of use cases of platforms is essential for these platforms to be offered as available options for the enterprise

• Formulate API architecture and governance for Enterprise IT to create a framework for all cross functional teams to leverage Integration platforms along with API Management tool
• Close collaboration with other engineers, architects, technical staff and leaders to drive guidelines and best practices
• Responsible for creating and maintaining integration architecture documentation
• Provides advanced technical expertise, oversight and accountability for the resolution of outages, service level issues and other events in partnership with support teams
• Defines proactive activities and tasks required for the optimization of stability, performance and architecture

• Closely partners with information security to ensure all applicable security, compliance, standards, and requirements are incorporated into service design
• Creates, designs and oversees implementation of enterprise integration capabilities between various heterogeneous systems
• Support the development and delivery of reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different configurations for different use cases
• Be curious beyond the obvious - thinking outside of the box and beyond tools and processes

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Must understand advanced concepts of SOAP, REST services and both XML and JSON message formats
• Must understand QA processes and test-driven development

• 5- 7 years of demonstrated expertise with enterprise data integration technologies, ESB (WebMethods, Azure Integration Services & Logic Apps, Tibco, Oracle, IBM, Mule, BizTalk) and other messaging-oriented middleware
• 5 - 7 years of demonstrated experience with enterprise database technologies such as Oracle, SQL, SAP
• Understanding of Modern cloud architecture and Data Hub concepts
• Working knowledge on DevOps
• Strong communication skills

• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum
• Bachelor's degree or post graduate level qualification in Computer Science or other relevant subject area
• Demonstrated experience with strategic planning
• Broad understanding of virtualized infrastructure, hosting environments, and cloud services
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience creating key artifacts such as use cases, user stories, user acceptance criteria, functional specifications, configuration stories or specifications

• Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate business functionality and opportunities into clear, precise, and easy-to-read technical design specifications
• Experience developing and/or designing large-scale integrated systems
