Job Description

The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center seeks a full-time faculty member with an interest and ability in pulmonary procedures to join a diverse and collegial faculty group with clinical and basic, translational, and clinical research expertise in critical care medicine, pulmonary hypertension, asthma, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, and lung cancer screening. We have a competitive T32 funded pulmonary/critical care fellowship program. URMC supports several regional hospitals with room for procedure program expansion.

We seek a faculty with an M.D., D.O., or equivalent, with a passion for academic medicine, who completed a three-year fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and is board eligible or board certified in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. Those with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Advanced Diagnostic Bronchoscopy or Diplomates in Interventional Pulmonology are encouraged to apply, but these are not required. Responsibilities would include evaluating appropriate inpatients and outpatients and performing diagnostic procedures in our dedicated procedural suite, including but not limited to EBUS and navigational bronchoscopies (Ion and ILLUMISITE™), thoracenteses, and pleural catheter placement. Clinical time in the ICU, on Pulmonary Consults, and the outpatient clinic is available. Protected time for basic, clinical, or translational research can be negotiated.
