Job Title: IT Engineer

Location: Guilford, CT (hybrid)

SUMMARY:Β 

The IT Engineer is responsible for aspects of the technology infrastructure operations, relating to day-to-day support of production platforms to ensure availability, integrity and confidentiality of the network, servers, and data.Β  This role supports a secure, compliant, robust, reliable, scalable, and efficient infrastructure.Β  The IT Engineer will be responsible for ensuring platforms are efficiently utilized, the cost to operate and support the platforms aligns with group and business expectations and that all compliance requirements are met including, but not limited to:Β  HIPAA, SOC2, HITRUST and federal and state security and compliance regulations.Β  To be successful, the IT Engineer should be customer focused (both internal and external), technically adept and enjoy working in a fast-paced start-up environment.Β  This position will be on the IT & Security Team and will report to the Senior Director, IT.Β 

RESPONSIBILITIES:Β 

  • Partner with Help Desk engineer and provide backup support where neededΒ 
  • Tier-3 and Tier-4 IT Support for on-site and remote employees
  • Ticket queue management (update, resolve, or escalate) and adhere to any established OLAs/SLAs
  • Drive the adoption of forward-thinking technology in a rapid growth environment with consideration of compliance standards and requirements (ex. SOC2, HITRUST)
  • Identify unique cutting-edge solutions to business problems leveraging technology and automation
  • Provide Tier-3 and Tier-4 hardware/software support for lab staff and instruments
  • Maintain a strict security posture for both office and lab environments ensuring adherence to compliance standards and requirements (ex: SOC2, HITRUST)
  • Quoting and purchasing of new equipment/licensing/applications
  • Deployment, configuration, maintenance and auditing of hardware, software, and SaaS apps
  • Reconciling and tracking of billing/payment of IT owned applications and hardware
  • Creating, updating, and managing documentation of assets, configurations, passwords, processes, etc. and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Team lead in regards to office moves, upgrades, and AV deployments
  • Support for on-boarding/off-boarding of employees (i.e., creating new users, configuring laptops, and setting up desks/workstations)
  • After-hours work when necessaryΒ 
  • Provide end user communications, distribution of help guides, track and manage IT changes following the change management processΒ

Β EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Β 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of support experience in a corporate environment with effective root cause analysis skills
  • 5+ years implementing and supporting infrastructure environments that adhere to compliance standards and requirements (ex: SOC2, HITRUST)
  • Intermediate hands-on knowledge and understanding of networking terminology, concepts and applications, such as, authentication, remote access, secure Wi-Fi and wired connectivity to the internal network, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and other cloud-based services
  • Experience with cloud-based storage (i.e., OneDrive, Sharepoint)
  • Experience with OKTA, Mobile Device Management (MDM), Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), RDP, VPN
  • Experience with WIN10 and MacOS; iPhones and/or Android
  • Experience with remote management tools like JAMF/Intune
  • Experience with web conferencing (Zoom, WebEx, etc.)
  • Experience with ticketing systems (Jira, ZenDesk, etc.)Β 

Β PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Β 

  • Ability to work long hours when necessary and execute under pressure with short turnaround timesΒ 
  • Ability to speak, write, and use all office equipment including scanner and printer, phone, computer, etc.
  • Available nights, weekends, and holidays when needed (both scheduled and unscheduled)
  • Both onsite and remote work.Β  Onsite work required as needed per tasks and engagements that require onsite availability.Β
