Job Description

Alion Science and Technology is looking for an experienced IT Engineer specializing in AWS. Will be responsible for engineering, architecting, and migration of Cloud-based applications and infrastructure. Candidate will develop strategic and implementation plans for information systems. Working with the development team and other engineers will conduct System Analysis of complex operational software systems to include troubleshooting and problem solving. Must be able to work in high pressure, highly flexible environment against both short and long-term requirements.

Responsibilities

Provides technical expertise in the design and development of IT operation environments. Develops strategy of the client/server system and the design architecture to support strategy. Researches new technology and advises on purchases for the client in regard to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development. Develops strategies for conducting studies to estimate the space, computer hardware, software and connection infrastructure resources required on a short and long term basis. Develops models of the computer and computer application environment, identifies and resolves computer operations systems performance problems. Measures system usage by workload type, identifying trends and estimating further resource requirements. May be assigned responsibility for the management of the IT operations function, including associated staff.

Security Clearance:

• A current TS/SCI level security clearance is required and therefore all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.

Education and Requirements;

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field. In some cases, education may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for specially recognized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market. shortages as reflected by market survey data. An advanced degree in Information Technology or related field is desired.
• Requires (7) years relevant Information Technology and five (5) years of managerial experience with DoD efforts.
• IT Industry certification preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Effective organization skills.
• Broadly skilled; familiar with highly available NGA mission critical systems
• Background in IEC systems is a major plus
