Job Description
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Systems Engineer will ensure that FirstKey Homes’ IT infrastructure is optimized, maintained and secured. This role will analyze infrastructure needs, coordinate the implementation of solutions and equipment, monitor systems and networks and troubleshoot matters to ensure performance optimization and security.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Perform the maintenance and optimization of company servers and infrastructure:
- Ensure availability of servers, services, and networks.
- Ensure Azure virtual server environment is available and error-free.
- Primary Technical Management of Azure Virtual Desktop VDI environments.
- Patching, Image Management, Performance Management, Availability, Access.
- Responsible for endpoint management and patch management of servers; ensure compliance in Workstation management performed by Systems Administrator.
- Leverages tools to deploy patches and applications to endpoints and servers:
- Workstations – Endpoint Central
- Servers – N-Able
- IT Asset Management:
- Ensure IT Asset Management tools are available to On/OffBoarding team
- Ensure IT AM data is accurate, and manage compliance metrics
- Assess system performance and availability and recommend improvements.
- Use various monitoring, logging and performance tools to verify high system performance and availability.
- N-Able, Kiwi Syslog, Endpoint Central
- Azure Log Analytics
- Note issues with performance & availability and draft proposals for Leadership on steps to rectify.
- Use various monitoring, logging and performance tools to verify high system performance and availability.
- Ensure compliance in the following environments:
- Code42 Endpoint Backup, Patch Management (Endpoints and Servers), Deployment of AntiViral Software and security policies, Endpoint Central RMM, Workstation Encryption, System Provisioning and Deployment Platforms, Disaster Recovery and Site Recovery, Change Management, Infrastructure Support.
- Primary Technical point-of-contact for CATO Network management.
- Follows process documentation for network troubleshooting and escalation to third-party Network Support Vendor.
- Assist in transition from outsourced MSP to internal support.
- Assist Azure, Security and Support teams with maintaining various software and hardware platforms.
- Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of various hardware and software platforms.
- Ensure data is handled, transferred, or processed according to legal and company guidelines.
- Provide escalated support and guidance to IT Support Team when necessary.
- Primary on SSO initiatives and third-party/Azure Directory integrations.
- Primary Technical Liaison between FKH and Third-Party Technical Vendors.
- Support & Guidance for IT Systems Administrator, as well as taking direct, Architectural-level management of Key FKH Systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primarily working indoors, office environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience and/or education
- Minimum 2-years’ experience as a Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, or similar Lead IT Operations role
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Hands-on experience with Windows(10,11, Server2016,2019,2022)/Linux(Ubuntu Server,FBSD)/Mac OS environments
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Certification in Microsoft or similar technologies
- Experience working in property management, real estate or similar industry
- Experience working in fast pace, high-growth company

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
- Computers— Knowledge of computer/server hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- In-depth knowledge on servers, networks, power systems, data-management, system provisioning, Cloud Operations and a wide array of general IT knowledge.
- Understanding from a systems and operations standpoint of Public Cloud platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, including but not limited to:
- GPO, Integrations, SSO, SAML, ADFS, LDAP, RADIUS, CERT, U&C and various other supporting AD tools.
- Understanding of backup and DR best practices in a public cloud hosted environment
