IT Technical Support Specialist, #625

Clearance: US Citizenship Required; ability to obtain a government clearance if required.  

The IT Technical Support Specialist will work with team to support Dev Technology with the following activities:

• Network Administration
• Perform network administration including monitoring and troubleshooting existing network configurations for Internet and voice connectivity for multiple Dev Technology office locations.
• Design, specify, setup, and configure network solutions including hardware, software and cloud components
• Manage, secure and optimize network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Server Administration
• Manage physical and virtual servers which may be on premise or cloud-based. Effort includes regular patching, monitoring and reviewing alerts, etc.
• Manage existing Microsoft Active Directory (AD) implementation
• Manage location storage (e.g. Network Accessible Storage)
• Monitor and administer backup solutions for local and off-site backup.
• Contribute to new server solutions including design and architecture requirements and engage in implementation of final solutions.
• Setup new servers as needed. This may include cloud-based environment for software development projects.
• Application Support
• Support and administer Microsoft-based solutions including Office 365 and SharePoint (on premise)
• Coordinate with internal and external resources for the corporate back-office systems support including Deltek Financials
• End User Devices and Support
• Setup new users in Office 365
• Setup new Dev users in Active Directory
• Setup new computers (laptops, workstations, virtual desktops)
• Support and troubleshoot users through deskside support including mobile device setup
• Support mobile phone
• Phone System
• Be the primary interface for phones systems. These include an on-premise implementation and a separate cloud-based system for assigned projects.
• Add and create new users
• Maintain integrations to email for voice messages
• Coordination
• Coordinate with internal and external (outsourced) IT support providers
• Maintain documentation including configurations, asset information, etc.
• Orient and train users for IT and phone needs in Dev offices
• With approval, coordinate ordering and receipt of new equipment including hardware, and software and phones.
• IT Security
• Performs all duties with a mindset towards maintaining Dev Technology’s security posture including following Dev’s established IT Security plan and industry best practices
• Manages and maintains Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, and Anti-Spyware software
• Applies security patches and updates as well as performs relevant upgrades in a timely fashion
• Ensures IMS processes are followed including maintaining records associated records, especially around ISO 27001 compliance
• Other Duties:
• Lead assigned initiatives
• Support internal or external facing projects in DevOps engineering role addressing the following: system setup or management needs including creation of new virtual environment, cloud resources, and software development tools and solutions (e.g. automated testing, continuous integration, etc.)
• Learn new technologies as assigned including Microsoft solutions along with open sources technologies that are used internally including those used by project teams leveraging Dev Technology resources

 Required Education, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree OR related technical certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or Expert (MCSA or MCSE), Network+, or Security+
• One year of experience administering IT solutions in support of end users (Local Area Network (LAN) Administration, Deskside support, etc.)
• One year of experience administering Windows based environments (Windows Server 2012/ 2016, Active Directory)
• Demonstrated knowledge (education, certification, experience) of broad range of IT tools such Virtual Private Networks, virtualization, cloning, and remote desktop connectivity
• Interest in learning new IT skills ranging from Microsoft solutions to open source technologies
• Experience with network configurations for switches, routers and firewalls

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with cloud-based solutions such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
• Experience using scripting or other techniques used in automating IT tasks
• Experience with multiple desktop and server Operating Systems (OS) including Windows, Linux or Unix among others
• Demonstrated understanding of IT security (experience or certification)
• Experience with project management methodologies and operating in Agile environments
