THE POSITION

Continental, recognized in Forbes Top 100 @America's Best Employers@ List, is looking for highly skilled Java web developer to support their Tire divisions enterprise B2B Java Web environment. The environment is based on micro service architecture leveraging Docker EE and provides features and services to over 40 countries globally. The individual will be collaborating with Continental's teams in EU and Malaysia to develop functionality with the target for our systems to be best in class.
Continental, recognized in Forbes Top 100 @America's Best Employers@ List, is looking for a highly skilled Java Developer to help the implementation of the Tire division's next-generation National Account Retailer and Fleet Program initiative.
As the Java Developer, you will play a critical role as part of the IT Fleet Solutions team responsible for the preparation of information systems proposals (including project schedule, data analysis, and system design). Collaborate with external service partners during the implementation process, of such systems (including database design, screen construction, process coding, and documentation).

Responsibilities:• This role will primarily focus on back-end side system development.• Exposure to implementation design and development using Spring Boot framework for current developments.• Ability to support some legacy implementation in a Struts/J2EE framework. • Collaboration with business partners to analyze user requirements and business objectives to determine application features and functionality.• Collaboration with front-end team members for the development of restful APIs.• Collaboration with global team members in Europe and Malaysia.• Responsibility to develop test code/test scenarios ensuring high quality. • Provide production support for a global web application.• Ability to efficiently debug and resolve technical issues.• Recommending changes to existing Java design/infrastructure.• Compile technical documentation and user assistance material, requiring excellent written communication.• Ensure continuous professional self-development.• Follow Scrum/Agile methodologies to organize and plan projects.• Embrace Continental's core values: Trust, freedom to act, and passion to win, for one another.

Job Requirements

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors Degree OR 2 years of professional experience• Experience with Java programming - minimum 2 years of experience• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Eureka• Exposure to continuous integration tools such as git, Jenkins, Sona Qube• Exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, AngularJS, JQuery, and Karma testing framework• Experience with user interface design, database structures, and statistical analyses• Experience in developing web applications (apps)• Ability to communicate effectively with software development team members• Exposure to BDD [Behavior Driven Development] paradigm• Exposure to testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, and Cucumber• Exposure to model data in a relational database such as Oracle, PostgreSQL• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills• Excellent written and verbal communication• Good organizational skills• Able to work with minimal supervision• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA or higher degree, ideally in Computer Science or related field and 2+ years of professional experience• Professional IT Certification• Full stack application developer experience
