Apply to become a vital part of our journey to success. Role Overview: As theLead Accountant, you will lead and manage core financial functions across ABIS and its sister companies. You’ll work closely with executive leadership, maintain sensitive financial records, ensure accurate reporting, and play a vital role in shaping financial systems and procedures. This position blends strategic oversight with hands-on accounting work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both detail and direction. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skill level. Key Responsibilities: General Financial Oversight • Manage end-of-month closings and ensure accuracy of all financial data across entities • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports for each organization under the parent company umbrella • Support leadership with financial insights to inform strategic decisions Project Billing & Client Management • Oversee project-based billing and client time tracking • Ensure accurate AR invoicing and monthly billing cycles • Maintain and reconcile all client contracts Accounting Operations & Controls • Reconcile multiple bank statements and financial records • Perform GL coding for credit card transactions using data exports • Complete GL reconciliations and transactional data entry to ensure accurate and complete financials within the ERP system • Manage journal entries, contract reconciliations, and other financial projects • Oversee sales tax: calculate, file, and submit monthly returns • Conduct AP and AR audits and ensure proper internal controls • Coordinate and support corporate tax return preparation Process Development & Documentation • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting workflows • Implement and improve internal processes to support compliance, accuracy, and efficiency Ideal Candidate Profile: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred • 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience • Strong understanding of project-based billing and client time tracking • Experience with contract management and reconciliation processes • Proficient with financial software and Excel • Familiarity with tax preparation process • High degree of integrity, discretion, and professionalism Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $65,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Disability insurance • Employee assistance program • Flexible schedule • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Health savings account • Life insurance • On-site gym • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Day shift • Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: • Yearly bonus Education: • Bachelor's (Required) Experience: • Accounting: 5 years (Required) Ability to Commute: • Houston, TX 77008 (Required) Work Location: In person
