Nokia Standards targets collaboration with internal and external experts to advance the state-of-the-art technology landscape as well as to protect Nokia Intellectual Property. The Architecture and Management group is responsible for research and standardization activities related to 5G and 6G cellular network architecture and its AI/ML-empowered zero-touch automation. Our team leads the industry transition journey of the cellular network functions, applications and workloads to cloud native - striving for greater agility and scalability, flexible deployment options, faster time-to-market and time-to- innovation, and new busines opportunities.

What you will learn and contribute to

To further strengthen our industry leadership in the telco transition to cloud native, we look for a senior cloud infrastructure management and orchestration standardization specialist to help driving and defending the Nokia's preferred solutions in key industry organizations. Interaction with customers, partners and competitors in these organizations is inherent part of the job. You also have the opportunity to build up robust intellectual property assets for Nokia.

As part of the team, you will:
  • Be part of the Nokia delegations in relevant organizations (e.g. O-RAN ALLIANCE, ETSI, GSMA, Anuket, CNCF, etc.); as appropriate, take up leadership roles in the standardization process.
  • Drive and defend the Nokia's preferred solutions; you will have to create contributions and review others' contributions, in line with the related Nokia strategies and view of our internal stakeholders.
  • Create technical concepts; you will work in close collaboration with the Nokia open-source team and the Nokia Bell Labs researchers.
  • Protect the generated intellectual property by patents, contribute to the implementation of patents in standards, review of inventions from others.
  • Engage with customers and other ecosystem partners as part of the research and standardization process; help boost our leadership in the telco transition to cloud native through internal and external communication


Your skills and experience

  • Strong understanding in cloud-native strategies, tools, services, methodologies and interfaces
  • 7 or more years of experience with related research, open-source, and standardization of these technologies
  • A computer science or electrical engineering/MSc degree, or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and presentation skill


It would be nice if you also had:
  • Understanding of Telco clouds trends and requirements
  • Knowledge of major Hyperscalers cloud offerings and environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Understanding of acceleration technologies in the context of clouds
  • A strong experience in patent creation; track record of publications
  • Ability and willingness to work in a multi-cultural context and negotiate results on technical matters
  • Works well in teams, but also have the ability to work autonomously on complex technical problems
