Lead Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer with a strong background in Business Intelligence (BI) to join our team.
This role involves designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and delivering actionable insights through BI tools. The ideal candidate will blend technical data engineering skills with a business-oriented approach to data analysis, driving data-driven decision-making across the organization while providing technical leadership and guidance to other developers.
The remote option applies only to the Candidates who will be working from any location in Greece.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines to process and store data from diverse sources
• Build and optimize data models to support analytics and business applications
• Administer and enhance database performance including SQL and PLSQL queries, particularly with Oracle ADW
• Collaborate on integration efforts to ensure seamless data solutions within operational systems
• Implement data quality checks and adhere to data governance best practices
• Develop and enhance BI reports and dashboards using tools like Oracle Cloud Analytics
• Translate raw data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making
• Engage with cross-functional teams to align insights with business objectives
• Define and track key performance indicators and other essential metrics
• Provide training and support to business users on BI tools for self-service analytics

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on business intelligence
• Proficiency in Python programming
• Strong knowledge of SQL or PLSQL, Oracle ADW or DB
• Experience with Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle Data Flow for data engineering tasks
• Background in cloud technologies, preferably Azure or Oracle
• Competency in BI analytics tools, especially Oracle Cloud Analytics
• Skills in integrating complex data systems into business processes
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake
• Experience with additional BI tools such as Power BI
