Lead DevOps Engineer
This is a full-time remote role for a Lead DevOps Engineer at CarNow. The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for infrastructure as code (IaC), software development, continuous integration, system administration, and Linux management. They will lead and manage the technical aspects of the DevOps team on a daily basis.
5+ years of:
*Infrastructure as code (IaC) (using Java or Typescript is a plus)
*Software Development and Continuous Integration experience
*Proficiency in Linux management
*Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
*Excellent communication and leadership abilities
*Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
*Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure) are a plus
Key Responsibilities
*Troubleshoot production issues
* Ensure site reliability of the infrastructure and maintain disaster recovery plan
*Document DevOps process and apply practices for Infrastructure as Code
*Automate process for deploying new services
Required Skills
*Hands-on experience of setting up scalable architectures and systems, with caching, message queues, databases, microservices, etc.
*In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes concepts like pods, services, deployments and secrets
*Experience working with containerized applications in Docker
*Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash
*Ability to setup monitoring, logging, and alerting for cloud applications (experience in Datadog is a plus)
*Strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices
*Experience with CI/CD tools like Argo CI/CD, and GitHub Actions
