Title: Lead - Green Hydrogen Development

Pay Range: $127,500 - $183,300

Purpose

As a Lead Hydrogen Developer - Energy Supply, you lead with the guidance of the development lead the energy supply arrangements for sundry hydrogen projects. The role would be an ideal opportunity for an ambitious self-starter looking to build on existing experience in the with retail and wholesale supply or energy in various markets to supply industrial projects. Electricity is the largest single driver of hydrogen cost of production, so it is the opportunity to impact the single largest drive of production on multiple projects. This role will be a key function to help fuel the growth of one of the most dynamic and entrepreneurial companies in the sustainability industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional project team including developing electricity supply and hedging programs of projects - leading efforts to craft and price electricity supply structures with team members from across the organization including Origination, development, asset management, risk, regulatory affairs, and trading operations.• Be responsible to research and evaluated local distribution company tariffs and model costs under different scenarios.• Build relationships with local distribution company personnel to support evaluation of service and tariffs.• Over see service/interconnection requests with local utilities.• Research and understand behind the meter (BTM) opportunities and develop strategies in different markets and regulatory environments. Leading cross functional teams to preserve and understand any impacts to renewable assets whether existing assets or to-be-built assets.

Skills and Requirements

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree (engineering, business or applicable science), MBA is a plus• 7+ years of experience in in renewables, utility or retail electric supplier MBA or other advanced degree• Knowledge of wholesale and retail electric markets at least in one of the major markets.• Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting skills.• Must be comfortable working in a matrixed organization.• Ability to manage cross functional teams• Communication- Clear, persuasive written and oral communications skills. Will be called upon to present to various levels of management, and external stakeholders to present positions persuasively and to drive to conclusions.• Responsiveness- Avangrid runs at a fast clip where responsiveness is important and where one can manage several high impact activities at the same time. Ability to coordinate and work as a team as well as to contribute individually.• Values / Mindset- A positive attitude, highly motivated, tenacious, responsive, and the ability to maintain a culture that is based on teamwork, respect and integrity. Treats adversity and setbacks as a challenge to overcome rather than as a demotivating dynamic.• Financial Acumen- Demonstrated understanding of how financing contract terms and conditions influence economics and Avangrid's business model. Proven track record of leadership roles in successful commercial transactions. Strong attention to detail to ensure transaction quality and pace. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word and computer skills• Several years of experience in similar role preferred. • Valid driver's license• Job may involve site visits to unimproved sites requiring ability to navigate rough terrain with vegetation• Travel >25%

Our Selection Process
