Job Description
Job Summary:
The Lead Nurse plays a pivotal role in delivering compassionate, high-quality medical care to clients recovering from substance use disorders. This position oversees nursing staff, coordinates medical services, and ensures compliance with healthcare standards and facility policies. The Lead Nurse collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to support clients through detoxification, medication management, and ongoing treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the nursing department.
• Oversee and participate in client assessments, including vitals, withdrawal monitoring, and medical history evaluations.
• Manage medication administration, including MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) protocols.
• Ensure proper documentation of all medical records in accordance with state and federal regulations (HIPAA, Joint Commission, etc.).
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and behavioral health staff.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate performance of nursing staff.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide triage care as needed.
• Monitor inventory and order medical supplies and medications.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with clinical and safety standards.
• Participate in staff meetings, treatment planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and leadership.
Qualifications:
• Education:Current LVN or Current RN (Registered Nurse) license in CA.
• Experience:Minimum 3 years nursing experience; at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Experience in addiction treatment, behavioral health, or detox strongly preferred.
• Certifications:BLS/CPR required. ACLS and/or certification in addiction nursing (CARN) preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with withdrawal protocols and MAT.
• Knowledge of medical and psychiatric comorbidities common in addiction.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally challenging environment.
Work Environment:
• Inpatient/residential substance abuse facility.
• May require evening/weekend availability.
• Exposure to individuals in crisis; strong emotional resilience and professionalism are essential.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
