  In this role, you will work with a highly creative team working on new and innovative solutions for supporting everyday workers. You'll directly impact and ensure the team builds tools that millions of end-users will love.   As a Lead Ontologist, you will be tasked with structuring a wide array of knowledge at ADP regarding the actions we need to take to satisfy our clients needs. Your day-to-day will involve developing the knowledge base that will underly customer-centric experiences for an industry-leading virtual assistant. You'll work alongside linguists, conversational designers, product managers, data analysts, developers, and business partners to design robust knowledge structures to be used across a diverse set of client impacting use cases.
  To thrive in this role, you should have extensive experience in constructing meaningful relationships within large sets of language data and leveraging those relationships to make insightful predictions or drive client experiences. The candidate will be expected to flex from being strategic to tactical, creative to analytical, and easily navigate across multiple disciplines in a high-speed environment. Experience with conversational AI is a plus.

  What You'll Do:
  Here's what you can expect on a typical day:
  
  • As a Lead Ontologist, expect to play a key role in ADP's knowledge development strategy, being prepared to guide the development and structure of knowledge across the company.
  • Design domain-specific Ontologie s for ADP's unique set of knowledge that span multiple product types and semantic areas.
  • Assist Developers & Machine Learning Scientists in developing innovative tech stacks that utilize knowledge to satisfy customer needs.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to structure and validate knowledge
  • Leverage LLMs and other data driven technology to assist in knowledge development and curation for uses in client facing products.
  • Facilitate Discussion. Your communication skills are vital to your success, whether in discussions with engineers, client users, or peers. Being vocal in your craft is valuable to this role.
  • Assist in validating and quality and robustness of existing knowledge structures and aid in adapting them to new technologies
  • Communicate recent developments in language technology to stakeholders and business partners
• TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
  As a Lead Ontologist, expect to play a key role in ADP's knowledge development strategy, being prepared to guide the development and structure of knowledge across the company.
  • You will possess an advanced degree related to Applied Ontologies, (e.x. Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Philosophy, Linguistics, Mathematics) OR equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Wed Ontology Language (OWL2) and Resource Description Framework (RDF)
  • Ability to manipulate & analyze large quantities of data (ex. SPARQL)
  • You will have programming expertise in a language such as Python that will allow you to script and automate your own workflows
  • You have experience working with Natural Language Processing use cases including text summarization, semantic tagging, or conversational AI
  • You have 3+ years of experience building knowledge representations in a corporate setting
