The impact you will have in this role:

The Lead Platform Engineer is a Senior Associate role on the Network Services team. Network Services is accountable for the planning, delivering and operation of network solutions for our internal and external stakeholders. Primary responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of sophisticated network architectures, including LANs, WANs, data centers, hybrid cloud, network security solutions and other environments.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Create and implement network builds with the guidance of the Network Architecture and Network Build senior engineers
• Take lead and supporting roles on Enterprise build projects (i.e. Data Center Migrations/Decommissions, Workplace Services Initiatives.)
• Responsible for completing operational turnover to network operations (Diagrams, Documents, tool readiness) and serve as a third level support for operations.
• Complete Business as Usual Network Engineering tasks.
• Provide Network Consulting and execution for assigned business lines.
• Collaborate with other network teams on various project, including but not limited to, observability and automation capability building, operational readiness, disaster recovery and resiliency.
• Identify, backlog and resolve network problems in proactive Problem Management tickets.
• Keep abreast of emerging networking technologies, industry trends, and standard processes. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve network performance, security, and reliability.
• Mitigates risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of demonstrable experience in a hands-on network engineering build or network operations team.

Talents Needed for Success:

• Expert-level knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS), switching protocols (VLAN, STP), and network security protocols (IPsec, SSL/TLS).
• Experience with network build designs.
• Extensive hands-on experience with network devices and technologies from leading vendors.
• Knowledge of network security principles and standard methodologies, including firewall management, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network access control.
• Highly skilled in the art of network troubleshooting.
• Experience with tools such as Riverbed, NetopsX , Wireshark and Thousand Eyes to troubleshoot network issue and prepare network changes.
• Experience with programming languages (i.e. Python) and delivery mechanisms (i.e. Anisble) for network automation is a plus. A willingness to learn these skills is also a plus.
• Knowledge of WiFi and Campus network technology.
• Relevant network certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP Network +) are preferred.ormed.
