About the Role:
We are looking for a full-stack Lead Sr. Software Engineer with a passion for modern JavaScript web development to help us continue to grow as a leading DTC eCommerce company. This is a team lead role that will oversee the entire software development team through the software lifecycle, from design stages all the way to testing. As part of a small but agile engineering team, you will enjoy autonomy and ownership in your work and have a say in making various small and big technical decisions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
This is a full-time, hybrid role with company benefits based in Marina del Rey, CA.
The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $155k-165k. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.
What You'll Do:
Lead Engineer Responsibilities
- Working closely with UX, Product and Agile team members to help guide agile software development and identifying markers of success.
- Responsible for the sprint outcome.
- Working closely with Technical PM to coordinate a team of software developers and engineers to complete all necessary tasks within a project.
- Undertaking practical software development work as part of the team.
- Use, develop, and maintain our web services in AWS, headless CMS, Shopify, 3rd party applications and custom features.
- Researching relevant technical requirement and modeling architecture strategies to build reusable components, in clean and easy to maintain code.
- Delivering updates on project progress, strong communicator.
- Mentoring junior team members and guiding them through complex software development roadblocks.
- Implement advanced business logic for product offerings, subscriptions, and order processing, using both native Shopify features and custom solutions
- Provide technical support for various business needs, such as data tracking, AB testing, and third party tool integrations
- Learn various Shopify features including theme development, APIs, and admin settings and use them to provide technical consultancy to internal stakeholders
About You:
- Minimum 7+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and Vue.js, or another front end frameworks
- Have built and deployed web services on AWS or similar
- Interest and prior experience in eCommerce preferred; Shopify experience is a big plus
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently and autonomously
- Have strong communication skills; able to discuss technical matters with non-technical team members.
- Takes ownership of work & thrives with mentoring others
- Open-minded, enjoys learning new things
- Prior experience in ‘digital transformation projects’ is a plus. Examples include: Leading a website redesign, migration of back-end platforms, migration of front-end framework, architecting a mobile application, integrating enterprise business systems like a CRM, a CDP, an ERP, a CMS
