Job Summary: The Lean Six Sigma Specialist is a change agent that will support the Cubic Defense organization by leading and contributing to people, process, and transformational initiatives utilizing analytic skills, change management best practices, functional knowledge, lean six sigma, and business acumen. This role should have a proven track record of driving small to large-scale, multi- functional organizational change, transformation, and innovation initiatives. This role will analyze cross functional business unit processes, identify opportunities for improvement, develop a project plan for implementing improvements, and monitor the new process to ensure it works as intended. This role will work closely with senior leaders and will work under limited supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives through the disciplined use of measurements, accountability, analysis, and standardization in order to improve business process maturity.
  • Lead Kaizen events and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) sessions through a disciplined process resulting in improvement to performance metrics.
  • Lead maturity of visual management practices including SQDIP boards cross engineering, program management, cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrate hands on experience with proven results implementing the basics of a lean operating system. Experience includes leading Kaizen events, value stream mapping, pareto analysis, Obeya principles, JIT, Takt, flow, pull, standard work, Jidoka, DMAIC, policy deployment, TPM, 5S, heijunka, kaizen, pacemaker, pitch, replenishment system, SWIP, visual management, etc.
  • Lead process improvement working sessions and mapping activities using lean and industry best practices, to develop and execute on a change management plan. Act as a key driver for change within the business units.
  • Develop detailed scope, schedule, and project plans, inclusive of change management strategies, for continuous improvement projects. Track progress of deliverables to completion and ensure project resources are managed to task plans.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of current operations and consult with multi- functional teams to provide transformative recommendations. (i.e., data collection, data analysis, and synthesis of data). Goal is to create logical and innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Accountable for continuous monitoring of improvement/transformative projects and adjust resource allocations and task plans to ensure the success of the project and its team members.
  • Raise risks and issues associated with transformation initiatives with leadership on a timely basis and work with appropriate parties to create mitigation plan
  • Drive efficiency through adopting a results-driven and non-bureaucratic mindset and remove time-wasting tasks and activities.
  • Drive the workstream's day-to-day transformation processes to ensure the successful completion of transformation initiatives and meeting overall workstream transformation targets.
  • Produce evidence of successful results from prior CI work experience including the experience necessary to lead CI in both administrative and manufacturing environments.
  • Hybrid position 3 days weekly on-site #LI-hybrid.
  • Some travel 10-15%

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Organizational Change Management, or related discipline, or Associate's degree in a related field with 8 years experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years practical experience with Lean Six Sigma/lean transformations, continuous improvement, and process mapping (i.e., green belt, black belt, master belt, or other).
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience leading and managing continuous improvement teams in an operational environment, to include leading business transformation.
  • Experience in change management (e.g., ADKAR or related methodology), stakeholder management, and influencing people without authority.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing and implementing multiple initiatives on behalf of business partners.
  • Proven ability to work in ambiguity. Highly motivated to take ownership with minimal direction.
  • Capacity to think strategically and innovatively.
  • Communication skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively, present information, and respond to questions from staff and management at all levels. Ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities.
  • Computer skills: High-level of spreadsheet utilization and value mapping skills. Exposure to a networked environment using Microsoft office suite such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook. Ability to use Enterprise-wide information systems such as SAP/Oracle.
  • Time Management & Organizational skills: Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality with strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task within tight time constraints.

Cubic Pay Range:

$71,000 - 122,430 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
