Legal Specialist

About the job

Moody's is looking for a legal compliance specialist to support its global data privacy program. Moody's has a multifaceted privacy domain comprising not only HR, vendor, marketing, and website data, but also diverse client offerings including SaaS-hosted products, data matching services, and data brokerage. The role will need to operate proactively to support day-to-day privacy operation matters globally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain global legal compliance documentation, including drafting updates to existing Records of Processing Activities ('ROPAs'), Data Transfer Impact Assessments ('DTIAs'), Data Protection Impact Assessments ('DPIAs'), and data breach registers.
• Conduct legal research in order to: (i) maintain and update Moody's internal global privacy, cyber, data breach, and AI law know-how charts, and (ii) contribute to Moody's internal monthly global privacy, cyber, data breach, and AI law newsletter, which provides latest legal news and updates to the business.
• Maintain and update the Global Privacy Team's content and resources on Moody's internal intranet and team SharePoint site.
• Act as local point of contact for data breach incidents in APAC region.
• Track and research India's new privacy law when it comes into force and help advise on local compliance remediation tasks, such as notification to the Indian data protection board (once it exists).
• Manage privacy compliance software tool OneTrust, including maintaining and updating Article 30 GDPR records and cookie compliance on Moody's websites.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 2+ years of previous experience of working in a legal compliance role for a global organization.
• Good IT skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat (including editing PDF documents), SharePoint (including setting up and maintaining) essential.
• Accuracy and attention to detail essential.
• Previous knowledge and awareness of EMEA, APAC, or global privacy laws highly desirable.
• Previous experience working with OneTrust software tool highly desirable.
