Job Title: Legal Writer

About the Role:

Fragomen, an AmLaw 100 firm and the leading global immigration services firm, is looking to hire a Legal Writer who will be responsible for analyzing and writing complex business immigration cases. Our Legal Writers work closely with Fragomen Attorneys on drafting and writing the most complex cases.

How you will make a difference as a Legal Writer at Fragomen:

• Collaborate with our team of writers and evidence reviewers to gather and assess evidence for immigration petitions for "Aliens with Extraordinary Ability" and "national interest waiver"
• Develop compelling narratives and persuasive arguments that highlight our clients' exceptional abilities and qualifications.
• Research, analyze and write complex business immigration cases.
• Draft and revise immigration petitions and supporting materials, ensuring that they meet the requirements of USCIS regulations and guidelines.
• Conduct research on USCIS policies and procedures related to "Aliens with Extraordinary Ability" to ensure that the petitions are in compliance with current regulations and guidelines.
• Communicate with clients to obtain additional information or clarification on evidence as needed.
• Work collaboratively with our team to ensure that all elements of the petition are effectively and cohesively presented.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all documents and correspondence related to the petition.
• Translate complex terminology into accessible, compelling, and relevant content for "outstanding researcher" and other petitions to the USCIS
• Create case strategy and work closely with Attorneys on writing projects
• Working closely with members of the legal team to ensure the accuracy of all information.
• Working independently and managing multiple writing projects simultaneously.
• Possess strong understanding of or ability to learn immigration law and the firms' network of clients, cases and legal teams.
• Applying excellent proofreading and editing skills to case-writing content and other materials.

Let's talk if you have the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field (JD will be considered)
• Experience in legal writing, preferably in immigration law.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft persuasive arguments and compelling narratives that highlight our clients' exceptional abilities and qualifications.
• Demonstrate cross-cultural communication skills and ability to interface with a variety of internal and external clients
• In-depth knowledge of USCIS regulations and guidelines related to "Aliens with Extraordinary Ability," as well as the ability to stay up-to-date on changes in policies and procedures.
• Strong research skills, with experience in legal research preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively with clients.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• In addition to the qualifications listed above, the ideal candidate should have a passion for immigration law and a commitment to helping individuals with extraordinary abilities achieve their immigration goals. The candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well under pressure.
