What You'll Do: As a Life Actuarial Associate IV on our Risk Management team, you will assist in the calculation, analysis, and review of actuarial values to support the development and implementation of strategies for the life insurance company. You will be part of a team responsible for the production and analysis of projected financial results used to monitor and manage the company. This will entail calculating quarterly principles-based reserves per Valuation Manual guidance, projecting the overall income statement and balance sheet as part of the company's annual planning process, analyzing actual-to-expected variances on a quarterly basis, and explaining earnings drivers to senior management. In addition, you will have the opportunity to interact and engage with professionals in a variety of other areas across the company.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

• College degree in math, actuarial science, or related degree and/or equivalent experience preferred.

• At least five years of related work experience preferred.

• ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) and continued progress towards an FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) preferred.

• Advanced knowledge of actuarial software and/or programming ability required with experience in MG-ALFA preferred.

• Previous experience with Principle Based Reserve guidance preferred.

• Strong knowledge of life insurance and/or annuity products.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with coworkers.

• Ability to work from our office in West Des Moines, Iowa.
