Looker Developer

The Role:

As a Looker Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of Looker dashboards and reports that support our business intelligence needs. This role requires you to collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their data requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and create insightful visualizations. You will also be responsible for optimizing and maintaining the Looker platform to ensure high performance and reliability.

What you will do:

• Develop and maintain Looker dashboards and reports
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand data requirements
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Optimize Looker queries and performance
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity in reports and dashboards
• Provide training and support to end-users
• Stay updated with Looker features and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Looker
• Coordinate with data engineers to integrate new data sources into Looker

Required Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience as a Looker Developer or similar role
• Proficient in LookML and SQL
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts
• Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving, and ambiguous environment
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Nice to have Skills:

• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift
• Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis
• Knowledge of other BI tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with version control systems like Git

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent years of work experience
