Job Description Summary

Perform the daily operations of plant maintenance to ensure reliability and consistency on the production lines. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has autonomy and is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees. This does not include production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.
• Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
• In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
• Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
• Has knowledge of best practices and how multiple areas interact within the plant; Is aware of the competition and overall market dynamics.
• Uses good judgment and can propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial setting).

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position is 100% onsite at the GE Schenectady, NY plant.

Desired Characteristics
• Industrial maintenance experience relevant to large scale manufacturing and production operations.
• Experience scheduling manpower and running projects in a manufacturing/production environment.

• Minimum 2 years' experience in scheduling or managing a workforce of 20+ employees in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
• Project management skills preferred.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay range for this position is $90,400 - $120,400. T The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity and OT eligible.

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
