What you'll do here

The Manager, Content Operations (MCO) coordinates the day-to-day content team operations ensuring that resources, including, people, budget, time, processes, and technology are optimized and deployed efficiently and creatively. It is the responsibility of this role to facilitate, expedite, and improve communication, processes, workflows, standards, and data/analytics that clear the way for the delivery of engaging, high-quality learning products.

As a member of the Content Leadership Team (CLT), the MCO drives an overarching content strategy that connects team activities to business priorities (CW and ed2go) and facilitates needed changes, mediating the downstream impact from shifts in larger business priorities.

General Role Requirements

People Management and Talent Development

The MCO leads a team of internal personnel and is responsible for the sourcing, management, and performance of vendors and other external service providers.

  • Leads a team of internal personnel, as well as the sourcing, management, and performance of vendors; owns standard processes and intelligence around sourcing, contracting, and assessment of vendors, SMEs, and other contractual experts.
  • Fosters a successful, connected team culture, that allows for open feedback, and innovation, and is consistently evolving to meet the needs of the team and the business.
  • Communicates optimally across collaborators with a high degree of interpersonal intelligence.

Technology & Data

The MCO, through regular engagement with Content team members, will identify the right technologies to solve inefficiencies, improve communication, gather significant data, and enable clarity. The MCO will coordinate key initiatives across fiscal years seeking to use current and new systems to create agility, allocate and lead resources efficiently and strategically, and will strive to find technology solutions to recurring problems. This role will build scalability by focusing on salient tasks, including content authoring, content reuse, and integrations, as well as just-in-time priorities.

  • Is the go-to technical authority for the team, driving the evolution of the LMS platform, and other technological tools related to content creation and delivery.
  • Asks the right questions to analyze situations accurately acquire data from multiple and diverse sources when solving problems, and uncover the root causes of difficult problems.
  • Observes trends from multiple data streams, like team performance, project needs, and product strategies, casting a broad net to find solutions that increase team agility and capacity.
  • Is a data leader, driving and evolving the collection and reporting of key analytics to underpin content team decision-making.

Runway Management: Resource Planning, Allocation, and Oversight

The MCO, in collaboration with CLT members, creates and implements a multi-year runway and budget that supports key business priorities, including the development of net new courses and the revision and maintenance of courses in the ed2go catalog.

  • Focuses efforts on continuous improvement; has a curiosity about identifying and seizing opportunities to increase scalability and agility.
  • Understands business and product priorities, and marshals resources efficaciously to get things done.
  • Applies knowledge of internal structures and processes to accomplish goals
  • Acts conclusively, understanding how much planning and collaboration are vital and when action is required.
  • Collaborates with Content Leadership Team to continuously and thoroughly evaluate service providers who provide design and delivery services to the content team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: Advanced degree preferred
  • 5-years' experience building and delivering online education programs within the adult learning space
  • Experience in a role with direct people management or the ability to influence and lead outside of a formal supervisory role
  • Ability to build successful relationships with external resources, including vendors
  • Experience in an operational or project management role and collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with or handling vendors
  • Interpersonal savvy with exceptional communication skills, engaging presentation abilities, and the ability to partner effectively with team stakeholders, as well as cross-functional colleagues
  • Balanced, empowering leadership style to flexibly lead diverse talent
  • Dexterity with a variety of technologies including learning management systems, productivity software, particularly MS Excel and PPT, databases, and data visualization tools

Base Pay Range

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$84,400.00 - $135,000.00 USD
