Job Description
ID.me simplifies how people securely prove and share their identity online. The company empowers people to control their data through a portable and trusted login, which means they don’t need to create a new password when visiting sites that have the ID.me button.
The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated digital migration for many critical services. Those services require a trusted identity to safeguard against fraud and help ensure people are who they claim to be. With ID.me, login and identity credentials move with people, which can reduce the time and frustration of having to verify at multiple sites and set up multiple passwords.
ID.me is a credential service provider compliant with federal standards for digital identity verification.Â
In addition to helping people control their credentials and data, the company’s “No Identity Left Behind” initiative strives to expand access and inclusion for all people. The company offers multiple pathways to verification – online self-serve, live video chat agents, and in person. ID.me is passionate about building a robust identity network that does not compromise access for traditionally underserved groups.
The Manager, Corporate Security will manage many of ID.me’s security operations to include the protection of its personnel, information, and property. Position will manage the guard force, access-control system, and assist in security operations, emergency response activities, and department needs. The Manager of Corporate Security will work closely with the Director of Physical Security in the development and implementation of state-of-the-art security systems and practices for every ID.me facility. They will assist in the assessment of all security issues at ID.me and assigning the correct resources as they arise.
ResponsibilitiesÂ- Strategic planning and implementation of new security construction projects at ID.me headquarters and Tampa locations.
- Develop ID.me security specific requirements for static security and manage the security guard force.
- Facilitate business process design as it relates to identities and access privileges such as workflow models, delegation models, and architecture.
- Provide management, oversight, and policy guidance necessary to maintain effective and efficient security force contracts at all ID.me locations.Â
- Manage the Access Control Program and process for employees, visitors, and vendors.
- Manage life safety training for all staff, and direct implementation of the company’s emergency notification system.
- Manage all security operations and security disciplines for workplace security, emergency management and business continuity planning, counterintelligence and insider risk.
- Project management for vulnerability assessments, investigations, travel security, and crisis management.
- Supporting training initiatives. Ensuring fire/life/safety documents are being properly maintained and communicated to the appropriate personnel.
- Responds to incidents and events that impact the business and ensures appropriate action is taken Identifies gaps, risks, and issues with personnel and operations and may be responsible for coordinating counseling or disciplinary actions.
- Contract and manage technical security services for ID.me facilities and equipment installation.
- Coordinate with the contractor on all technical matters that arise in administration of the contract.
- Provide the contractor with technical clarification needed to understand specifications, design, and future design needs for security systems.
- Serve as Acting Director of Physical Security when the Director of Physical Security is out of the office.
- Monitor and inspect the contractor’s progress and performance to assure compliance with the contract terms and conditions, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
- Verify satisfactory delivery of contracted services and approve contract invoices for payment.
- Assist the Director of Physical Security on assuring that the company is compliant with local, and national security regulations.
- Conduct appropriate investigations related to physical security, supply-chain, or manufacturing where and when required
- Assist with incident response and with disciplinary and legal matters associated with security breaches as necessary
- Evaluate and provide recommendations to close security gaps and vulnerabilities with a heavy emphasis on incident avoidance versus reaction
- Develop appropriate Crisis Management programs and recovery plans for ID.me’s facilities
- Develop and institute plans that will evaluate, track and provide for quick response to external security threats.
- Monitor news, social media, and intelligence to identify and assess potential threats
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and intelligence of groups or organizations that could affect or provide security risk to ID.me’s business or its employees
- Create and maintain comprehensive travel security programs and procedures
- Minimum 8+ years security management experience with increasing management responsibility including security and crisis management relevant security leadership experience ideally with federal law enforcement (US State Department, FBI, etc.), intelligence community, military, or private sector corporate security organizations, (e.g., OSAC or DSAC)
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing security and counterterrorism programs (from policy to operations) at the mid to senior level
- Demonstrated success in identifying and using external partners to improve efficiency.
- Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance, monitoring of assets, and making rapid notifications via mass communication tools.
- Ability to utilize and interpret information obtained through a variety of sources to include; interview of persons, document examination and open source media and video.
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal business groups and security services.
- 24/7 on-call availability.
- IT literacy, including but not limited to social media platforms, data analytics, Microsoft Office suite and web browsing tools/methods.Â
- Strong knowledge in CCTV operations, access control, and visitor management systems.
- Strong working knowledge of security topics including Safety Act, Homeland Security mission objectives and other relevant federal laws and regulations.
- A problem solving/analytical approach that demonstrates the ability to gather critical information and stay ahead of current trends.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, handle, and motivate others.
- Outstanding crisis management skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess strong command of safety and security protocol.
- Strong negotiator/facilitator and consensus builder.Â
- Ability to interact at all levels of the organization.Â
- Proven leadership skills in program management, collaborating with others, as excellent written and verbal communications.Â
- All candidates must be able to travel domestically (approx. 25%).
