Insurity's Next Manager, Development

As a Development Manager for Insurity, you'll lead two multi-functional Agile development teams supporting Bridge Specialty Suite and Insurity Marine Suite to deliver value to Insurity's customers. Insurity is seeking a people-first leader who is adept at upholding Agile best practices and passionate about building quality software. This person should possess the ability to lead by example and a desire to understand the 'why' behind the 'how'. This person must be proficient in full-stack software development using C# / .NET Framework, ASP.NET, Telerik UI, SQL Server, and SOAP / WebAPI / REST APIs, and will perform tasks as an individual contributor to support the team as needed.

What Our Manager, Development Will Do

  • Lead, coach, and mentor two high-performing, highly engaged teams of individual contributors, typically performing similar functions
  • Interview, hire, onboard, and retain exceptional talent
  • Provide input to departmental goals and ensure goals are met
  • Adopt and reinforce company policies, processes, and programs
  • Lead team members using the company's performance management and development process
  • Support a culture that emphasizes the strategy, guiding principles and core values
  • Communicate effectively & regularly with team members, peers, and leaders
  • Manage financial responsibilities and activities
  • Develop and maintain trusted customer relationships
  • Effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive utilization across team
  • Communicate financial and goal results, and KPIs to direct reports
  • Perform tasks as an individual contributor to support the team as needed

  • Minimum 5 of years of experience in leading Agile software development, preferably in a Microsoft-based enterprise environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, data structures, databases, MS Office, version control systems (TFVC/Git), XML/JSON, Business Intelligence (BI)
  • Proficient in full-stack software development using C# / .NET Framework, ASP.NET, Telerik UI, SQL Server, Azure, and SOAP / Web API / REST APIs
  • Nice to have:
    • One or more certifications of the Job Family being managed
    • General knowledge of Human Resource practices and labor law requirements
  • Ability to travel 10-30% (travel is minimal)

We continuously analyze and update our salary ranges for our roles according to market trends to not only ensure our employees are paid fairly, but also help close gender, race, and disability wage gaps. Along with the benefits listed above, the salary range for this role is $80,000 to $166,000, commensurate with experience.
