Responsibilities:
- Help manage care side of the PD business, including skin care/ body care / fragrance projects.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Beautycounter R&D lab and Project Management, and external stakeholders, including contract manufacturers, to drive progress, on time and on budget, throughout the development process.
- Collaborate with Safety, Sustainability, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure new formula development and reformulations meet Beautycounter’ s mission and commitments to performance and safety.
- Route formula submissions to Product Marketing team, gather feedback and redirect formulas with internal R&D lab or CM labs.
- Participate in weekly meetings with Product Marketing and R&D leads, to align on development and feedback throughout the development life cycle.
- Participate in weekly cross-functional huddles to move projects forward.
- Upon formula approval, collaborate with R&D, Sourcing, Quality, Regulatory and Packaging on tech transfer & scale up for projects.
- Manage Safety Testing of new and reformulation projects in collaboration with R&D, CM’s, QA, Safety and RA.Â
- Support Sr. Director, Care in claims substantiation process with Legal and Regulatory to support proposed product claims, key ingredient stories, and feature & benefits summaries based on testing.
- Review Creative assets for claims substantiation, in collaboration with Legal and Regulatory.
- Manage PD on-site storage areas including development retains, bench standards of approved formulations, CM capabilities.
- Manage PD PIF’s ensuring all required approval forms and testing data are saved accurately and updated as needed.
- Manage fragrance library.
- Create/ update Master Product Fact Sheets in collaboration with Regulatory.
- Travel to contract manufacturers for formula evaluation, pilot/ scale-up and production batching, as needed.
- Attend industry events, trade shows and supplier meetings to stay abreast of current trends and technologies, as needed/ where applicable.
What you will bring to this role:
- Minimum 3-4 years of product development in skin care, and fragrance experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with managing contract manufacturer relationships.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills and collaboration with internal cross-functional teams
- Work independently while keeping senior management informed of obstacles.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required with an emphasis in Business or Science.
- Strong problem solving, analytical thinking skills.
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Travel up to 20%, domestically.
- On-site 4 days of the week (1-day WFH)
Pay: The salary range listed below is for work locations in the United States, with individual pay determined by several factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, and training. Salary ranges are determined in good faith by role, level, and location. As a remote-eligible job, salary ranges for specific locations will be provided upon request. #
Salary Range
$98,000—$118,000 USD
Bonus: Additional compensation includes an annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
