Schwab Charitable was founded by Charles Schwab & Co. and while it operates as an independent charity, it is closely affiliated with and enjoys the support of Charles Schwab & Co, including contractual agreements to provide a variety of services. This position will be an employee of Charles Schwab & Co. and will be subject to its human resources and risk policies and procedures but will report to and be accountable to Schwab Charitable for day-to-day activities.
As a key member of the Schwab Charitable Knowledge Management & Training (KMT) Team, the Manager Editor will plan and manage KMT daily activity, including task assignment/management and oversight and maintenance of a formal inventory/content calendar. Additionally, the Managing Editor will provide shared oversight of an internal communications program, including development and deployment of org-wide editorial standards and driving adoption thereof. This role will lead best practice, change management and optimization for the team, including managing and utilizing metrics to ensure continuous improvement and knowledge and training program optimization. This role will also provide direction and support of various logistical activities regarding the delivery of training and knowledge content and activities.
What you'll do:
- Plan and manage daily KMT operations
- Coach and nurture team members
- Coordinate KMT publications and meetings
- Assign tasks for writers, designers, producers, and editors
- Create and manage detailed content schedules
- Oversee proofreading procedures and edit copy when necessary
- Assist in evaluating finalized copy for compliance with policies, style, and tone
- Resolve issues as they arise
- Analyze performance metrics across properties to quantify results
- Monitor and optimize team production to meet traffic, engagement and growth targets
- Implement best practices, workflows, tools, and templates to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of KMT production processes
What you have
- 10+ years of professional experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience supporting Schwab Charitable required
- Bachelor's degree in related field, advanced degree preferred
- Exceptional communication skills (written and oral), with strong attention to detail and the ability to develop clear, concise, and cohesive content
- Demonstrated ability to apply effective strategic thinking via typical deliverables.
- Outcome-oriented with demonstrated ability to deliver the most effective solution possible within time, budget, or resourcing constraints
- Demonstrated record as a self-starter and fast learner with business and technical acumen
- Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work promptly and flexibly in response to changing priorities
- Strong analytic skills with the ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and implications for business decisions
- Strong influencing skills/ability to build credibility with stakeholders, lead meetings, and drive action
- Strong and demonstrated project management skills with the ability to see things through from concept to implementation, with previous experience in managing complex projects
- Strong orientation to employees, including ability to understand needs and apply this understanding to delivery enhancements, user experience, and content clarity
- Experience with leading and/or supporting large, cross-functional teams of individuals at varied levels with varied skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams, etc.)
