This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Qualifications

About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. At the target grade, employee will perform a range of analytical studies and projects related to maintenance production operations, and support items and their components and subassemblies. Study organizations, allocation, and effectiveness of controls and methods, work processes, or functions that are interrelated located at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, which is a subordinate installation of JMC.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes:
  • Experience determining changes in material requirements within an automated data base, such as Logistics Modernization Program;
  • Experience monitoring work center reports to track productivity;
  • Experience monitoring delivery schedules of supplies for timeliness; and
  • Experience monitoring supply stock levels to determine availability.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.



Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes:
  • Experience determining changes or shortages in material requirements within an automated data base, such as Logistics Modernization Program;
  • Experience monitoring work center reports and data to analyze and evaluate productivity and efficiency;
  • Experience monitoring delivery schedules of supplies and explosives components; and
  • Experience monitoring stock levels of materials, supplies, and explosives components to determine availability.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in any major field of study which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. PHYSICAL EFFORT
The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office. May require occasional travel.

  • Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 6 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
  • Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
