The Media Relations Manager supports the development and implementation of a media relations strategy to uphold Samsung Electronics America’s strong reputation. The manager is a savvy communicator who will engage and develop strong relationships with influential members of the media, as well as execute key Corporate Reputation initiatives. We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented PR professional with existing relationships with media contacts, and a familiarity with crisis communications best practices. This role requires the ability to present technology in an easy and relatable way in front of an audience. The manager will report into the Director of Corporate Reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage and maintain relationships with media contacts alongside the Director of Corporate Reputation.
2. Develop proactive media outreach strategies and pitch materials to bolster Samsung’s positive reputation.
3. Leverage a suite of media monitoring tools to sense and understand the media landscape as it relates to Samsung’s brand reputation, turning observations into actionable insights.
4. Grow the Corporate Reputation team’s reporting function within the Samsung organization and identify new channels to provide organizational impact.
5. Able to step in easily when needed on team projects from risk assessments to media monitoring.
• Knowledge/expertise/experience
o 5-7 years of PR experience, either in-house or at an agency (knowledge managing an external agency a plus)
o Mainstream media relations experience
o Experience managing media relations for brand campaigns
o Creativity to bring fresh perspective to our work and come up with ideas that challenge status quo
o Ability to identify, develop and tell compelling stories
o Ability to track KPIs and translate results into key learnings and actions to inform future approach
o Excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills

o Solid written and verbal communication skills
o Results-driven media relations specialist with existing contacts
o Strong networker with ability to forge and maintain new media relationships
o Strategic thinker who thinks and speaks in numbers
o Extremely detail-oriented and solutions-oriented to deliver results

o Energy and passion to collaborate and contribute to team culture
• Education (include higher education, certifications, and whether required and/or preferred)
o Bachelor’s degree

 Responsible for ensuring timely, creative and accurate dissemination of news, multimedia content and information
Summary:
The main function of a Communications Specialist is to assist corporate communications with message development, writing, and editing
 Create a variety of content for platforms, ensuring quality, accuracy and effective storytelling that aligns with corporate messaging
 Forecast and track marketing and sales trends, analyzing collected data.
 Works closely with Client's Product corporate sales team to write and finalize monthly and annual press release.
