Migration Lead - Marriott

The Migration Lead role for Marriott consists in managing the Migration and Deployment streams for the Marriott ACRS program. It includes defining and executing the migration and deployment strategies, driving a virtual team of 7 members and facing Marriott, representing the Migration stream.

Context

The Enterprise Program Delivery (EPD) group has been tasked with delivering large and complex programs to our large Hospitality Customers.

The Enterprise Program Services (EPS) group, within EPD, provides all required services to make it happen, namely implementation, migration, test management and business process alignment.

Our ambition is to accelerate the adoption of our Hospitality products and to become the center of excellence for the delivery of our solutions.

Project

Marriott, the biggest hotel chain in the world (with 11,000+ properties), has launched a major initiative to modernize their IT solutions.

The scope of this initiative includes the implementation of Amadeus Central Reservation System - ACRS - which is, for Amadeus, the biggest contract ever.

In this role:

The Migration Lead role consists in managing the Migration and Deployment streams for Marriott.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Structure the migration and deployment stream of the Marriott program to successfully deliver our enterprise engagements to Marriott.
  • Define the migration strategy - including the design of the migration solution - with internal teams, Marriott systems and third parties (OTAs, Property Management Systems, RMS, GDS).
  • Define the data migration strategy.
  • Define the deployment strategy.
  • Lead the execution of the migration.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders (up to VP level on Marriott side) to align on migration solution delivery and strategy towards deployment goals.
  • Nurture relationships with customers senior leaders and VPs to develop trust, influence strategy and increase Amadeus' credibility as a provider.
  • Manage all critical aspects of the deployment activities (plan and coordinate across teams the execution of rehearsal and cutovers, create a Cutover Window Plan, define the Entry Criterias for the migration, coordinate the support).
  • Define the operational and marketing communication plan.
  • Provide project management expertise beyond Marriott to help achieve industrialization objectives of Entreprise Program Delivery.
  • Recommend process, product and/or service improvements based on understanding and anticipation of internal and external business challenges.
  • Manage business case and resources needs for the Data Migration and Development program
  • Participate in recruitments for EPS

About the ideal candidate:

  • Preferred - Master degree educated or equivalent
  • Must have 7 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry
  • Must have 10 years of experience in the IT industry
  • Must have 5 years in a matrix environment leading virtual teams
  • At least 3 years of project management experience required
  • At least 2 years of leading an enterprise IT implementation project is required
  • Expertise on Amadeus Reservation system or competitors
