Mobile Developer (Rust)

This position is open as a 1099 contract arrangement through 7/31/24 with possible long term extension. We are hiring 100% remote within the United States but you must live in the Eastern Time Zone (there will be meeting overlap with European sister teams so Eastern time zone is a hard requirement).

We’re looking for an adventurous mobile UI programmer, looking for a change! You are ideally a passionate and resourceful Mobile Developer interested in learning Rust to help build new apps for our client who is leading the audio entertainment company in North America. We have a terrific position available for an innovative, inspired problem solver to develop high-quality client software. As a member of an R&D Team, you will have the opportunity to work directly on brand new applications across mobile, TV, and Automotive platforms, impacting the audio entertainment experience for millions of listeners.

Duties

• Work in an Agile development process
• Use Mobile knowledge and apply it to Rust applications.
• You understands the patterns of mobile development and can help with architecture of front end. 
• Develop great code, ensuring quality with unit tests where appropriate
• Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Collaborate with designers, quality assurance testers, project managers, product managers, and project sponsors
• Communicate tasking estimation and progress regularly to a project manager and/or through appropriate tools

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with iOS/Swift OR Android/Kotlin 
• 3+ years of mobile UI / UX programming 
• Eye for design, attention to detail in UX  
• Some familiarity with Rust (personal project, coding exercises) or the willingness to learn  
• Comfortable using Rust in a UX context full time (will be using mobile UI and architecture knowledge but in a Rust environment) 
• Must be in the Eastern US time zone
