Opportunities Available:

The Modeling and Simulation team at Stryker Joint Replacement is a highly motivated team of engineers who have been advancing the application of computational modeling and simulation technology throughout the product lifecycle. The team has also been developing and validating specialized modeling and simulation tools which require the collection of comprehensive physical, and cadaveric testing, robotic procedure, and in vivo gait lab data.

The Modeling and Simulation intern carry out computational modeling and simulation (CM&S) involving both commercial finite element analyses (FEA) software as well as custom codes including those incorporate machine learning algorithm for CM&S input and output data analysis. They will also participate in test lab data collection, and draft reports, presentations and manuscripts.

What You Need:

• Currently working on completion of a Master's or PhD degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer
• Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring
• Specialized finite element analysis in your research or project work
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Ability to exercise independent judgment
• Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Proven leadership and business acumen skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience with commercial FEA packages such as Abaqus, ANSYS and LS-Dyna
• Familiarity with programming languages such as MATLAB and Python
