Job Description
Responsible for and engaged in purchasing municipal bonds, loans and leases directly from governmental issuers. Responsible to identify, structure, and close transactions as they relate to Municipal debt issues. Educates municipalities about other relevant products and services that the Bank offers. Identify, pursue and close financing opportunities by directly marketing to governmental entities, municipal advisors, bond attorneys, trustees and governmental associations. Prepare responses to formal solicitations (RFPs) by state and local governments and other tax-exempt borrowers for the direct purchase of debt. Facilitate the deal process through coordination with the issuer, legal counsel, municipal advisors, trustees, etc. Read and analyze legal documents related to financing agreements. Maintain a strong presence and rapport with internal and external clients. Manage channels for new and existing client product growth and referral activity. Cultivate a broad network of relationshi Requires a Bachelor's and some years experience in the fields of public finance/municipal bond investment banking work/or banking, accounting, or finance related to governmental entities. Some experience with municipal debt issues, identifying, structuring and closing transactions. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements. Basic knowledge of public finance/municipal bond investment banking work and municipal debt issues Ability to identify, structure and close transactions. Knowledge of accounting or finance related to government entities. Solid communication and inter-personal skills. Ability to clearly and succinctly express financial concepts both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in managing multiple project-oriented tasks and good attention to detail. Ability to work independently while being team-oriented. Good problem resolution and organizational skills. Ability to learn Federal Tax Law as it relates to municipal finance as well as statutory financing rules and regulations. Must possess a high level of motivation, initiative and leadership skills. Requires strong analytical and quantitative skills. Demonstrates strategic thinking, communication, time management, negotiation and presentation skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Ability to quickly learn other finance-related software products as needed.
