Position Overview

Raymour Flanigan Information Technology department is looking for a Network Engineer. As a member of the Network Engineering team, this person is responsible for providing technical expertise in telecommunications functions such as network design, engineering, implementation, integration, and end user support. Candidate will evaluate needs, collaborate with partners and help architect and support solutions. Will serve as an escalation point for all telecommunications equipment and applications including Core Networking, LAN/WAN, VOIP, PBX, voice mail, wireless technology.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Knowledge and experience working on core Data Center, WAN and LAN design, wireless technologies, advanced IP telephony and network management
- Experience evaluating and implementing network monitoring tools such as WhatsUpGold, Observium, SolarWinds and provide metrics in this area.
- Experience configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining Velocloud SD-WAN appliances, Cisco and HPE routers/switches, Aruba and Aerohive WiFi, F5 load balancers, Fortinet firewalls, Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
- Understanding of application transport and network infrastructure protocols (VxLAN, SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, NTP, T/S/FTP, HTTP, SMTP, LDAP, and Microsoft AD).
- Candidate will be a SME in supporting these tools/devices/applications/protocols and others in both theoretical and practical environments.
- Ability to perform protocol level analysis and provide guidance on Network Management, Security, Planning, Traffic Engineering and Implementation.
- Technical experience working with VPN technologies (IPSEC, SSL VPN, WebVPN, AnyConnect, DMVPN, etc.).
- Proven experience with VOIP telephony systems in both retail and call center environments.
- Work with Managed Service Providers/Carriers and provide oversight for Service Level Agreement adherence, perform troubleshooting and support MACD
- Design, Implement and Maintain a highly available and scalable network environment.
- Develop and execute mitigation plans for advanced technical issues.
- Provide oversight of change management SOW and POR and serve as a department decision maker on the CAB.
- Must be generally available 24x7 (in person or remotely) for escalations from team members or management.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in a technical field (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Administration, etc.) or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of expertise in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications.
- Proven track record of solving enterprise-scale problems under intense pressure while maintaining composure and discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to cross-departmental engineering and troubleshooting exercises with a positive, constructive attitude. Ability to recognize and balance the needs of the team, identification of the true scope of a problem and an appropriate sense of urgency and creativity in resolving the issue.
- Current CCNA or comparable industry certification desired.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
