Job Summary:

This role is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex network infrastructures for small and medium-sized businesses. This role interfaces with project managers and communicates with clients to ensure critical network requirements are met. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Performing project-based engineering, installation, and troubleshooting of network and security solutions. 

  • LAN and WAN routing and switching design, configuration, and deployment in small to very large and complex environments including Internet Edge architectures. 

  • Update graphical and text-based documentation and effectively manage the installation and support process of new and add on network solutions. 

  • Network maintenance and support: Ongoing maintenance and support to ensure the stability and availability of the network infrastructure. Troubleshoot network issues, perform upgrades and patches, and monitor network performance to ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are met. 

  • Client communication: Communicate with clients to understand their network requirements, provide technical advice, and present network solutions. Provide regular updates on network performance and report on progress towards SLAs. 

  • Must follow and comply with company information security policies and procedures and participate in cybersecurity awareness and security training. 

  • Responsible for routinely recording ticket time accurately and updating ticket progress regularly in accordance with engineer policies. 

Required Professional Skills: 

  • Active Cisco CCNA/CCNP certificate or the equivalent experience 

  • Minimum of 3 years related experience providing project deliverables in a Managed Service Provider/VAR environment. 

  • Solid experience with Microsoft® Visio, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint 

  • You have expert-level knowledge and experience in support of the following: 

  • NGFW/Firewalls/VPNs (Cisco is a MUST, Palo Alto is a plus) 

  • Complex routing and switching solutions (Cisco is a MUST, Nexus strongly preferred) 

  • Multi-protocol environments, with mutual redistribution of routing protocols 

  • Multicast 

  • QoS 

  • Network Access Control, including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) implementation design, configuration, and deployment. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one or more of the following areas: 

  • Cisco enterprise wireless 

  • WLC’s 

  • AWS & Azure Networking 

  • Programmable Infrastructure (APIs, Scripting, PYTHON, JSON) strongly desired 

  • Authentication solutions including 802.1x/RADIUS/TACACS, Cisco ISE 

  • Load balancing/Acceleration solutions (Cisco, Citrix, F5, Riverbed) 

  • IDS/IPS solutions (Firepower/Palo Alto a plus) 

  • Familiarity with additional management and monitoring applications, including: 

  • ConnectWise, NMAP, IPERF, OpenNMS, Splunk, ESXi 

Required Experience / Personal Skills: 

  • Associate’s Degree or the equivalent work and/or military experience 

  • .Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): 

  • Client satisfaction rate of 90%+ 

  • Annual KPI of 1700 engineering hours (142 Monthly) 

  • Service Ticket & Time Compliance Policy adherence of 95%+
