The Opportunity

This position works out of our Kansas City, MO location in the Rapid Diagnostics division. We're empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott's diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people. Our rapid diagnostics solutions are helping address some of the world's greatest healthcare challenges.

The position of Network Optimization Manager is within our Toxicology business unit located in our Kansas City, MO office. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing operational projects within the business unit. This candidate will coordinate with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Clinic Solutions, Operations, Finance, National Accounts, Product, Quality, Regulatory, Human Resources and IT to ensure that all deliverables are completed correctly and delivered on time.

What You'll Work On:
  • Apply good judgment to align project actions against business unit strategy.
  • Utilize a structured approach with conducting operational, commercial and strategic assessments of clinic network that informs strategic planning and process improvement opportunities.
  • Identify internal process improvement opportunities resulting in business optimization efficiencies and margin improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and recommend new options for enhancement of our clinic network value stream.
  • Design value stream and project metrics and key performance indicators to measure improvement success
  • Apply advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects.
  • Superior analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, in order to apply sound judgment to the most impactful initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills with the ability to work well with a range of people, and ability to collaborate across functional areas of the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability.
  • Advanced Excel, financial acumen, and project planning skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, an ability to effectively tailor and communication to Executives, Team Members, Business Partners, and Customers.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Operations or Project Management within the healthcare industry or related field
  • Extensive experience leading projects to completion


Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP certification
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing projects using MS project, Smartsheet or other project management tools
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and constructively communicate across departmental disciplines while pursuing project goals
  • Proven ability to provide sound conclusions and recommendations
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a focus on detailed work
  • Familiar with Drug Screening Industry and/or Occupational Health Screening and Collection Site / Clinic environment(s) (preferred)
