Your impact
As a Network Systems Analyst, you will be a valuable team member on our Network and Security operations team supporting Intelsat's Corporate and Commercial Aviation Networks and Security infrastructure. This individual will be part of a team responsible for the design and implementation of Intelsat's growing datacenter presence around the world. You will lead and assist with various projects that will challenge your skills with routing, switching, security, VoIP, and multi-media services including inflight entertainment. This position will work with and manage vendor relations and could have a voice in the purchase/quote process, as our business continues to expand.
What you will do
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues involving Intelsat switches, routers, circuits, etc.
- Troubleshoot issues with our Palo Alto and Juniper firewall platform as well implement policy rule changes to facilitate new services and connectivity.
- Document changes to all Intelsat infrastructure to include Visio diagrams, spreadsheets, and cloud-based tracking and documentation software.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering, with the implementation, buildout, decommissioning, and refresh of Intelsat teleports, datacenters, and sales offices.
- Coordinate with system design and network operations for existing data expansion, consolidation, and relocation.
- Manage vendor relationships to get their equipment specs, list prices and other vendor information.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering, with the development of floor plan layouts for datacenters and corporate offices.
- Develop equipment purchase orders, track orders, and arrange implementation with remote hands if not traveling for datacenter and corporate office related equipment.
- Familiar with hardware return of material assets processes.
- Provide options for existing data expansion, consolidation and relocation.
- Partner with other departments to coordinate the delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of equipment.
Your required experience/skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years' experience working in large complex datacenter environments
- Advanced troubleshooting skills of datacenter and office network environments.
- Racking various types of network and server equipment.
- This role is subject to ITAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).
It would be nice if you had:
- Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIPv2, MPLS, PBR, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP)
- Experience with dual homing service providers and ISP redundancy
- Experience working with Cisco hardware including switches, routers, ASRs, ASA, FWSM, IPS, load balancers, Nexus
- Experience with hands on troubleshooting skills including packet level tracing, debugging and analysis.
- Experience with security protocols, TACACS, RADIUS, different flavors of VPN and remote access.
- Experience with Telco services, T1, DS3, SONET, OC3 - 192.
- Datacenter design, redundancy and failover experience a plus
- Experience with F5 load balancing and geographical load balancing a plus
