Salary Range: Assistant Professor: $425,000 - $590,000 per year; Associate Professor: $465,000-$595,000 per year; Professor:$480,000-$650,000 per year


The University of Chicago’s Department of Neurological is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank This is an exciting opportunity to be a member of our growing neurosurgical program as we welcome our Inaugural Chair of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Mohamad Bydon. The appointee will provide inpatient and outpatient clinical care specializing in the clinical management of patients with primary brain tumors, metastatic disease, and the neurological effects of cancer on the central nervous system. The Neuro-Oncology program is part of The University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCCCC), an NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of only two NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in Illinois, and the only academic medical center on the city's South Side. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. The appointee will join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty colleagues and learners in UChicago Medicine, the Biological Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Medicine, the University of Chicago and its affiliates. The University also has a robust Neuroscience Institute, which brings together more than 90 neuroscientists based in academic and clinical departments across the campus into a cohesive program. The Department of Neurological Surgery currently has 12 full-time faculty neurosurgery attendings with plans to expand in the coming years.


Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent; 2) have or be eligible for permanent medical licensure in the State of Illinois and State of Indiana; 3) be Board Certified/Board Eligible by The American Board of Neurological Surgery; and 4) have additional fellowship training in neuro-oncology or equivalent experience.
