Reports To: Lead Custodian
Service Time: 230 days

Primary Role:
This position is responsible for nightly cleaning and disinfecting of classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas in a team cleaning environment. The role also supports school events and may include occasional weekend overtime. This position is key to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Disinfect classroom spaces and high-touch surfaces nightly, including desks, chairs, door handles, and shared equipment
Clean and sanitize classrooms, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and emptying trash/recycling
Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors
Maintain cleanliness of hallways, stairwells, entrances, and common areas
Clean administrative offices and staff areas
Refill supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and carpets
Set up and clean up for school events, including after-hours and occasional weekend activities
Report maintenance needs, safety issues, or damages to the supervisor
Lock and secure all designated areas at the end of the shift
Follow all custodial procedures and school health and safety protocols
Collaborate with team members to complete all tasks efficiently
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience working with children and adults.
Custodial/ Janitorial or maintenance experience preferred
Familiarity with common cleaning supplies and hand tools
Physical stamina
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail, reliability and work ethic
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
Flexibility to support occasional weekend overtime for events or school functions
Shift:
This role will work Monday through Friday, 4:00PM to 12:30AM
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate ranging between $16.26 and $24.25 depending on experience, with an additional $1 per hour for a shift differential.

Essential Functions:
Physical abilities include but are not limited to being able to stand for long periods at a time, ability to lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds, full dexterity of hands and fingers. The specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to identify and distinguish colors, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
