TITLE: NS Customer Solutions Engineer

Role Overview:
As our adoption rate and range of solutions expand, we are seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to join our Network Services Customer Solutions team. This role will involve providing technical pre-sales support to clients across EMEA, both directly and
indirectly. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network technologies and be able to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
• Direct client activities: Deliver presentations, design workshops, respond to RFPs, prepare solutions proposals and bids, and provide ongoing account support.
• External third-party/partner interaction: Work within the ecosystem in cooperation with third-party consultancies and other vendors and service providers.
• Bid support: Prepare RFI and RFP responses, and complex solution proposals.
• Indirect support to distribution and regional offices: Ensure that product and corporate messaging is accurate and on point.
• Work with product management, marketing, and other internal IPC functions:
Ensure a quality lifecycle support to existing clients, and provide constructive input and competitive market feedback aimed at new product and service specification and campaigns.
• Work with account manager to drive closure of business: Work with the account manager to close new business deals.
The successful candidate is likely to be currently working in a pre-sales or system engineering role within a financial markets services provider or telecoms and will have a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, organization, enthusiasm and excellent communications skills.
The primary office location will be in London but some foreign travel may be required.
We are looking for a candidate with proven track record of presentation skills and customer facing experience, one that will gain the respect of both global clients and colleague and can work under pressure.
Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role:
• Typically requires 3 – 5 years relevant work experience as a Sales Engineer.
• Financial Markets Services Provider experience is a major plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field meeting minimum transcript requirements or equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal, speaking, writing, presentation, and collaboration skills
• Ability to demonstrate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Public cloud certifications preferred (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• FIA, CCNA, CCNP certifications a plus.
Technologies:
• Knowledge of Financial Extranets, Server hardware, market data, low-latency trading infrastructure, and the financial technology landscape
• Cloud Technologies
• Knowledge of datacentre colocation environment; inc. security, storage and network design
• Knowledge of Virtualization and Containerization technologies
• Knowledge of PTP, Boundary Clocks, Grandmasters, and other timing service
• Knowledge of Routing Protocols such as BGP, ISIS, OSPF, RIP
• Knowledge of Carrier Class MPLS Traffic Engineering to support Managed WAN, Financial Extranets, and VPLS network environments
• SIP Voice Signalling Protocols, and Carrier Ethernet experience
• Security – including aspects of network security, encryption, authentication, SBC, firewalls and VPN

Accountabilities with Expected Results:
• To discover, understand and define customer requirements
• To position the benefits of IPC solution in the context of the target environment
• To respond to a broad range of technical solutions questions
• To design customised solutions that may range from optimisation of standard product configurations to complex design projects involving integration of 3rd party products.
• To position hybrid infrastructure opportunities across public, private and hybrid platforms from inception through to handover into delivery
• To prepare, host and deliver tailored Customer presentations
• Products, solutions and services – benefits, feature, technical details and designs
• Technology direction and roadmap
• To generate responses to RFP questions as part of a bid team that are:
• Technically accurate, credible and in context
• Well written, concise and easily understood, with clear, professional graphics
• Geared to promote IPC’s strengths
• Delivered to agreed schedules.
• To provide a conduit between Clients and IPC Product Management for product enhancements and other requirements
