Nurse Practitioner/ Hospitalist

The Bon Secours Hospitalist team at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA is adding a Nocturnist NP to provide overnight care to hospitalized patients and support our in-house Nocturnist Physician.

• New grads welcome to apply, but preference is for an experienced hospitalist NP with at least 2-3 years of experience
• Must have Virginia license and DEA, ACLS/BLS
• Requires critical thinking skills, customer service skills, flexibility, calm under pressure, friendly demeanor, collaborative team player
• APC will assess patients overnight to facilitate early discharges, assist with admissions from the E.R.
• Answer floor calls and other duties as assigned that supports operational efficiency and patient care needs
• Work schedule is 7 days on - 7 days off - 12 hour shifts 8:00 pm to 8:00 AM
• Average 6-8 admissions per night, average in-house census 70-90
• All adult and geriatric patients
• Mentorship provided
• Opportunity for NP student training rotations
