Clean Harbors is looking for an Operational Technology Engineer to join our safety conscious team! The Operational Technology Engineer is responsible for providing support for all levels of the Process Control Network (PCN) Level 1-3.including controls systems networking, servers and workstations. Works with all company production sites to maintain, upgrade, patch and cybersecurity on DCS/PLC proprietary systems.Â

- Proactively manage controls production environment and take preventative actions to avoid business impacting incidents; Develop processes to maintain backups.
- Audit and provide recommendations for improvements of PCN to ensure optimal performance and lead improvement.
- Specify, configure and manage all PCN equipment including Servers, Switches, Domain Controllers, Routers, Firewalls, NAS, VPN, Thin Clients, KVM and VM.
- Work as part of the Controls Systems team to ensure operational readiness of Company sites.
- Provides OT engineering support to plant maintenance department on an as needed basis and coordinate planning of scheduled major systems outage.
- Develop multi-year strategy to keep control systems and the PCN up to date with current OEM hardware and software.
- Upgrades sites PCN’s to assure compliance with controls OEM and industry standards.
- Assists in developing capital project lists for the facilities and helps develop budget costs for such.
- Maintain PCN diagrams following the ISA/Purdue Models.
- Install and maintain the Company OT Claroty System for Secure Remote Access(SRA) and Xdome(Asset management and cybersecurity).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Information Technology required. Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required.
- Rockwell Control Network Trained required.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Entry-level Technician (PCCET) required.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA).
- Working knowledge of Cybersecurity and Industrial Control System Standards-ISA, NIST.
- Working knowledge of Linux, Microsoft Server/Windows, Powershell, VM software(Hyper-V/VMware), Active Directory, Thin Client Management, SQL.
- Working knowledge of Industrial Communication Protocols Modbus, Profibus, OPC UA/DA, FTP, SFTP.
- Understanding of OEM software Factory Talk, DeltaV, Wonderware, Canary, ABB.
- Experience in network design engineering and maintenance.
- Ability to travel 10%-25%.
