Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Remote Portfolio Delivery Lead (PDL) that will report directly to the Director of Operations (DOO) and will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of project managers and projects in the Environment Business Line, growing the commercial acumen and project management capabilities of the project managers, and acting as a project performance analyst supporting the DOO for the Federal Remediation Practice. The primary location is Omaha, NE however, this candidate can be based remotely in any US location.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the DOO in the day-to-day operation of the business line, including project delivery performance, pricing strategies, risk management, forecasting and budgeting, and performance reporting
  • Provide interpretation of monthly performance figures to support the DOO in overall business line management
  • Provide support to project managers to resolve project issues and make recommendations to improve project performance. Trouble-shoot problems, both common and unique, and own issues through to resolution.
  • Direct project management staff to ensure timely, effective, and efficient performance of project managers' responsibilities
  • In coordination with business line leadership, provide guidance in assigning projects and pursuit efforts to project managers
  • In partnership with department leaders, evaluate individual performance of project managers within the business line
  • Review proposal and project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Promote risk management practice within the project management function and develop PM risk competencies, including a strong contractual understanding among project managers of how AECOM manages risk and contingencies
  • Conduct project reviews with project managers in accordance with AECOM global guidelines. Utilize reviews to monitor project-level performance, client satisfaction, team, budget, schedule, risk, and quality management
  • Oversee project management processes, including timely and accurate Estimate at Completion submittals
  • Support project managers and project team members with invoicing and cash collection strategy.
  • Drive consistent project management practices and procedures in alignment with AECOM PM requirements
  • Evaluate and drive AECOM delivery excellence practices

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or comparable technical, business, or professional degree
  • Minimum 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent experience managing Federal Remediation projects, including the development of scope, schedule, and budget, and the subsequent monitoring of cost and schedule
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from pursuit through closeout, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors
  • Business development skills and experience such as client service and proposal preparation
  • Understanding of scheduling concepts and earned value management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present to an internal audience and facilitate workshops
Additional Information

Compensation

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation for CA, WA, CO, NYC and MT will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $170,000.
